Abstract

Background: Burnout is physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by long-term involvement in situations that are full of emotional demands. Nursing students can be at risk of experiencing burnout due to the many tasks and routines of life carried out while undergoing lectures. Objective: This study aims to determine the Description of Academic Burnout in Nursing Students of the Nursing Science Study Program, Sam Ratulangi University. Methods: This research design is Descriptive for determining the sample in this study using Purposive sampling with a sample of 101 respondents with primary and secondary data. The data collection instrument used in this study was the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) burnout questionnaire. Results: The results of the study showed that the data obtained were that the majority of respondents had a moderate level of burnout, namely 90 people with (76.9%), out of 101 female respondents 57 people with (56.4%) had a moderate level of burnout, 17 men (16.8%) and 22 people with (21.8%) aged 20 years had a moderate level of burnout. Conclusion: The majority of respondents who have the highest average burnout are respondents who are 20 years old and women experience more burnout than men.
